The Remodel (Living Area)

This was somewhat of a cheat room for us, it wasn't much of a remodel, more like a re-paint + re-furnish. Some grey garage paint on the floor and a couple of fresh coats of white on the walls and fireplace made a pretty big difference, the space feels more uniformed and open. We still have a lot of work to do, like adding shelving (Apologies fireplace, for using you as a catchall/bookshelf),  and hopefully dressing up the very bare wall behind the couch with some of my posters that are screaming to be framed.

The skylight on the high ceiling is also one of my favorite things about our home, almost a year in, we still have not felt the need to purchase a floor lamp for the room, it helps the room stay well lit until quite late into the evening hours.

The Remodel (Bedroom)

In January 2013, we bought our first home together. Even though the place was far from being livable at the time, few things functioned properly if at all, we were over the moon. We knew we had some work cut out for us, our new home needed some major TLC. MAJOR!. The remodeling process took a few long and stressful months, limited with a very very small budget, while there are still lots to be done (wood floors to start, pleasee), some shelves to add and plants to adopt, I love how it turned out, a fresh coat of paint in a softer color palette can do wonders. We completely gutted the bathroom, torn down the old closet in the hallway and replaced it with an open closet system from rubbermaid, this little guest room converted nicely into our master bedroom. It's cozy, light filled, and non-fussy, the perfect place for us to wind down at the end of the day :) Here's a little glimpse:
